Story

Milovitch-York Wedding
The marriage was celebrated, at St Brendan’s Roman Catholic Church, Shepparton, on Monday afternoon last, by the Rev Father T Murphy, of Mr Vincent Milovitch, son of Mr and Mrs P Milovitch, of 'Kinvarra', Nixon Street, Shepparton, and Miss Henrietta Addie York.

The bride, who was given away by Mr PJ Darcy, was attired in an ivory brocade frock trimmed with pearl. She wore an old English lace veil. The bridesmaid was Miss Nellie Milovitch, sister of the bridegroom. She wore a dress of mauve crepe de chene and black georgette hat, trimmed with mauve, and carried a beautiful bouquet. Mr M O’Brien was best man.

Subsequent to the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the parents of the bridegroom where the wedding breakfast was laid out, Mr PJ Darcy presided. Conspicuous on the table was a large three-tier wedding cake which had been made by the sister of the bride in England, and sent on to Shepparton. The toast of 'The Bride and Bridegroom' was proposed by Mr M O’Connell, that of 'The Bridesmaid', by Mr J Haddock, 'The Parents of the Bridegroom' by Mr M O’Brien, and that of 'The Ladies' by Mr O’Connell.
