"JACK AND THE BEANSTALK”
Outstanding Production: Exquisite Frocking: Clever Dancing

Declared to be the best performance of its kind seen in Shepparton, the Christmas Pantomime, 'Jack and the Beanstalk,' presented by Mrs A Hawker and her pupils at the Star Theatre on Wednesday night, was an outstanding success. It contained all the ingredients of traditional pantomime fare and revealed the high standard of local talent.

The giant, Gallibantus, Wesley Knight, looked ferocious, while Bernie Millivitch [sic: Milovitch] as Dame Gallibantus, gave indications of developing into a leading pantomime dame.

Much amusement was caused by the antics of Cuckoo, the cow, played by Edgar Thompson and Billy Hawker. Peterkins, the gardener, B [Bill] Haddock, and Tom McCarthy, as the demon, also did well.
