Known as Deas, he was born Laust Andreas Larsen, and married and died as Andreas Laust Larsen. He was also Laust Andreas on his mother's 1904 death registration. Deas was the seventh child and oldest son to live to adulthood, two brothers having died before Deas was born.3,6,4,7 | |

Death of Anna Margaretha | |
Anna Margaretha suffered for several years from tuberculosis, known at the time as consumption or phthisis. Anna Margaretha Larsen died of tuberculosis in Congupna on the morning of Saturday 24th November 1904, aged 56. She was buried at the Shepparton cemetery on 26 November.9,7,10 | |
Most of the family was still in the family homestead; only the married Anna Carolina had moved out. Meta was the youngest at 13 years old. Eldest remaining daughter, Carnie became house-keeper and carer for her father and the younger family members.11 | |
Laust, Denmark Visit 1906 In 1906, two years after mother Anna Margaretha died, father Laust returned to visit family in Denmark.12,9 | |
Two family photos were taken beforehand to take to Denmark. One was a family portrait of Laust with his nine children. Marriage and Family Andreas Larsen married Christina Kerr from a neighbouring family in 1910. They had two children reach adulthood, Ursula and Max. Two other children died very young, Jack in 1911 and Arthur in 1915.13,4,1 | |
The children attended the newly opened Congupna Road school where Deas served on school committee in 1919.14 | |
Farming After Deas Larsen married, he leased a farm on Katamatite Road, three miles north east of Congupna Road. In 1921, he bought 'Fairfield' from his father's estate, then in 1923, he bought the adjoining original selection from the Riedell estate. The best of the two houses was used to make a more modern home.15 | |
Later Years In their later years, Deas and Christina moved to Corio St in Shepparton.16 | |
Andreas 'Deas' Larsen died in April 1940 in Shepparton. He is buried in the Shepparton Public cemetery near his parents and several other family members.6,17 | |
Deas Larsen's probate was granted to brother-in-law George Berry and wife Christina.16 |
