Mill Accident The Geelong Advertiser reports: The Trentham correspondent of the Kyneton Guardian states that on the 28th ult. a most shocking accident occurred at Mr WD Christian's Axle Creek saw mill, by which a poor lad about fourteen years of age, named Thomas Connell, met with his death. It appears that he was at work in the mill, when he was caught by a belt and carried into some part of the machinery. His head was literally dashed to pieces, his arms and legs were smashed, and his whole body crashed out of all semblance of humanity.1 |
