Annie Victoria Williams was born on 5 December 1863 in Creswick, Victoria.1,2,3 
She married James Howard, son of Richard Howard and Janet Martin, on 13 March 1893 in North Melbourne, Victoria.4,2 
She died on 13 September 1940 in Geelong West, Victoria, at age 76.5,2

Story

Annie Victoria was born at Bloody Gully in Creswick on 3 December 1863. She was the fifth child of Mary Ann amd John.2,3,1
 
Most of the family moved from Creswick to Shepparton between February 1877 (when William Charles was buried in Creswick) and August (when John's Crown land application stated he lived in Shepparton). It is possible some of the older children travelled separately, or with John Joseph and his young family. The oldest child Maria was aged twenty and on her March 1878 marriage registration, gives her usual address as Creswick. The youngest child to move was Richard aged six.6,7,8
 
Marriage and Family
Annie Victoria Williams and James Howard were married at a parsonage in North Melbourne on 13 March 1893. They had seven children between 1894 and 1905.

At the time of their marriage, James was a farmer and Annie was a dressmaker.2,4

The children were all born in Tallygaroopna or Congupna. At least four, Harry/Henry, Ivor, Clariss/Clarice and Cyril, attended Tallygaroopna West school.9,2,10,11,12,13
 
Family Life
James farmed initially in Congupna. Some records have them living in Congupna and some have them living in Tallygaroopna, even around the same time.2,14,15,16
 
In 1910 they moved to a place about 30 km north of Geelong, near Little River.

Different records have them living variously in Little River, Balliang, Ripley, Brooklyne/Brooklyn and Glenara.

In the electoral rolls from 1912 to 1937, James is shown as living at Brooklyne, Little River, and Annie is shown as living at Ripley, Little River.

Ripley is a village on the northern edge of Balliang, about 30 km from Geelong.

In livestock sales, James is shown at Brooklyne (or Brooklyn), Little River. Perhaps Brooklyn(e) was the name of his property.

In 1919 James is shown at 'Glenara', perhaps the name of their homestead. In 1925, son Ivor is shown as living at Glenara, Little River.17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,2,31,32,33,34,35

The six sons followed James into farming. Henry Lawrence first appears on the electoral rolls as a farmer in Little River in 1915. Ivor first appears in 1916, Cyril William in 1919, Stanley Livingstone in 1924, Gilbert James in Lara in 1925, and Morton Alexander in Lara in 1927.19,20,21,23,24,26
 
Annie Victoria Howard died at a private hospital in Geelong on 13 September 1940, aged 76. She was buried at Rothwell cemetery in Little River with husband James.2
 
HOWARD.- On September 13, at a private hospital, Geelong, Annie Victoria, widow of the late James Howard, of Ripley, Little River, and devoted mother of Harry, Ivor, Clariss (Mrs JE Jones), Cyril, Stanley, Gilbert, and Morton, aged 77 years. -Father and mother reunited. (Interred Rothwell Cemetery September 14.)36
