Maurice was born in Collie, Western Australia on 26 May 1917. He was the ninth child of Margaret and Peter. He was also known as Maurice George, Zambelas and Bell.2,1,3,4
 
Early Life 
It is believed that a number of Margaret and Peter's children were looked after by Margaret's sister Johanna.3
 
World War Two Service
Maurice Thomas George Zambellas, service no. WX13422, enlisted in Claremont, Western Australia. As next of kin, he gave his mother as Margaret Bell.4
 
Contact with Victorian Family 
Eva, Greta and Maurice had contact with their Victorian family. Eva and Maurice stayed with their cousin Eileen Haddock's son Ken in Melbourne during a holiday in the early 1960s.3
 
Maurice Thomas George Zambelas died in Perth on 16 June 1996, aged 79.2
