Declared to be the best performance of its kind seen in Shepparton, the Christmas Pantomime, 'Jack and the Beanstalk,' presented by Mrs A Hawker and her pupils at the Star Theatre on Wednesday night, was an outstanding success. It contained all the ingredients of traditional pantomime fare and revealed the high standard of local talent.

Move to Melbourne 
The family moved to Melbourne and lived in Collingwood for a short time during the War years. They returned to Shepparton when there was fear of a Japanese invasion of Melbourne.5

We then went to see a movie. I took my seat and heard a kerfuffle behind me. Bill had got into an argument with someone.
