Korizo Agatha Milovitch was born on 5 January 1875 in Prahran, Victoria.1 
She married Horace Walt Gamble in 1899.2,3 
She married John Isaac Vaughan in 1930 in Collingwood, Victoria.4,5 
She died on 15 July 1947 in Parkville, Victoria, at age 72.6,5

Story

Korizo was born at Nelson St in Prahran at 8am on 5 January 1875. She was the fifth and youngest child of Eliza and Thomas. The birth was registered 3 November 1875.1
 
With both her given name and family name quite uncommon and 'foreign' to most Australians, Korizo has many variations in how her name is recorded and transcribed.

On her birth registration, she is Karizo Mellivitch, though her mother was illiterate at the time. Her marriage is recorded twice, once as Karizo Agatha Milovitch and once as Korizo Agatha Malovitch. Other variations are Koriza Agatha Melovitch (daughter Nancy's birth), Korey Millivitch (son Mitchell's death) and Agatha Korizo (father's death registration where her brother-in-law was informant). As witness to the 1893 marriage of her sister Mary Elizabeth to William O'Connell, she signs her name Koriezo.

Korize is common and is used on son Morris's birth registration, her marriage to John Vaughan and on the administration of her estate (by John Vaughan).

On her (illiterate) father's 1899 will, she is Correize Theresa and on her mother's 1898 probate, her father calls her Teresa.7,8,9,10,11,4,12,1,13,14,15,16
 
The five Milovitch children, Annie, Mary, Peter, Edward 'Paddy' and Korizo, may have gone to school in the Prahran area where they were born (the youngest in 1875), or near Nagambie where they were living by 1890.
 
Death of Brother Peter Nicholas 
Peter Milovitch died in June 1890. He was just 20 years old and was working at Tahbilk at the time. One newspaper reported he died of 'brain fever', but his death certificate says he died of bronchitis.

Within 12 months the family had relocated to Mooroopna.17,18
 
An In Memoriam appeared in The Age three years after his death:
MILOVITCH - In sad and loving remembrance of our dear son, Peter Nicholis Milovitch, who departed this life on 15th June, 1890, at Chateau Tahbllk.
Immaculate heart of Mary,
Your prayers for him extol,
Oh, sacred heart of Jesus,
Have mercy on his soul.
- Inserted by his loving father and mother, brother and sisters.19

 
Family Move to Mooroopna
It is uncertain where the family was between Korizo's 1875 birth in Prahran, and 1891 when they were in Mooroopna. Mooroopna Justice of the Peace, WS Archer, said in an 1891 document that he had known Thomas for seven years. This would seem to imply that Thomas was in the Mooroopna area by about 1884. But the death registration for their son, Peter Nicholas, says he died in 1890 in Tahbilk. And the informant for that information was Peter's sister, Mary Elizabeth, who gave her residence as Tahbilk. This implies that the family, or a significant part of it, was still in Tahbilk in 1890.1,20,21,18
 
By late 1891 the family was living in Finsborough St, Mooroopna (later 24 Main St).

At this time, eldest Annie was 26 and youngest Korizo was 16.

The brick section at the front had a wine shop and two other rooms. The timber section at the back had five rooms with lined partitions of wooden dado (lower part of the wall) and the balance paper and canvas.21,22
 
Mary Milovitch
In 1897, at age 22, Korizo had a child to an unknown father. Infant Mary Milovitch died the following year aged four months and is buried at Shepparton cemetery.23,24,25
 
Marriage and Family
Korizo Agatha Milovitch and Horace Walt Gamble were married in Mooroopna in 1899. They had four children between 1900 and 1905. One died as an infant and one at age four.9,5,26,11
 
They settled in Mooroopna where three of the four children were born.

Third child, Leo or Leofwyn, was born in Richmond in 1903 and died there in 1904, aged four months.10,27,26,28,29
 
Horace died in 1906 aged 31. This left Korizo with one year old Nancy and two other children under six. Second child, Henry Mitchell (birth) or Mitchell (death), died in Carlton in 1907 aged four.30,9
 
By 1911, Korizo was living in East Prahran. Horace was from Prahran, so when he died, Korizo may have taken her young family there for support.31,32
 
Korizo's father prepared his will in 1899, the year after his wife died and the year Korizo married Horace. In the will, he left Korizo a property in Park St, Mooroopna, and the family piano. The property was never transfered to Korizo.12,33
 
Second Marriage
Korizo Agatha Gamble and John Isaac Vaughan were married in Collingwood in 1931. They had no children.4,5
 
'Korize Agatha' Vaughan died of heart related problems and hemiplegia (paralysis of one side of the body) at the Royal Melbourne hospital in Parkville on 15 July 1947, aged 68. She was buried at Fawkner cemetery on 16 July.6,5
 
Administration of Korizo's Estate
Korize Agatha Vaughan died in 1947 without having made a will. In March 1949, Letters of Administration were granted to husband John. Korizo had real estate, a vacant block in Cameron St North Essendon, valued at fifty pounds. Her personal estate was valued as nil.15,14
